Seattle

So, Seattle was a thing. I was sent out for 6 weeks with my work to help out some struggling stores. Well whilst that was interesting and stressful (none of which I will go into here), I was really surprised with the place as a whole.

I’ve heard and seen various reports and first hand experiences being fairly negative of the place. Hell, even I dislike the Seahawks fans I regularly speak to or see at NFL games and sports websites. When we arrived we were told we would be staying and working in an area technically outside of Seattle. It has one of the worst crime rates in Washington and is generally perceived as a “rough area”.

Well if that’s rough, sign me up as a certified, comic book villain badass. What a lovely place!

The people there were, as a generalisation, really nice. Strangers, I mean. Even the unsavoury types (you can tell by looking at them, junkies, crack heads and all that look the same universally) were generally very polite and never bothered us. And we had to deal with them on a day to day basis. We had one fellow in particular who was the stereotypical, confrontational type. He was told once to piss off after I had enough and he was fine ever since that. Are us Scots really that scary sounding to others?

The people I worked with, on the other hand, were beyond really nice. Quite possibly a few of my favourite people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting on this earth. I saw moments where they were so absurdly nice and awesome that it’s like watching some cliche filled, hollywood happy film. But when its real, and its genuine, it’s mind blowing. I wish them all the very best of luck. It’s unlikely I’ll ever see any of them again, despite my best intentions in saying I would try to come over again one day. And that’s the sad part. It’s not cheap to fly over there from Scotland, and working retail + paying for a flat and living just makes it an impossibility. I already have a trip to Texas planned for next year, and that’s taken me multiple years to save for. Who knows, maybe something will come up. I’d like nothing more.

Ordered myself a new T.V. Got a demo of it today and was seriously impressed. Will probably need to get myself a new soundbar for it eventually but amazing deal for the price, got the T.V, 5 year “world cup” warranty and free express delivery for only £170! Recommend to anyone considering it

been super positive

The last 6 months or so, and even more positive in the last month. Which is why I cant wrap my head around losing my shit tonight. It’s like I have a little switch in my head somewhere which goes from ” super laid back, positive dude ” to ” holy shit, murder murder murder” mode.

Quickly tried to combat this by drinking whiskey. Its dulling my unrelenting fury fairly well, so I’m pretty zen right now. But the bottles almost done and then I’m totally screwed. Does anyone else ever experience this?age

What Retail Employees Want You To Know

rocksteadyash:

I thought about going about this in a sarcastic and brutal way, but then I remembered how being in retail has taught me to be polite even in the worst of circumstances. So, in keeping with the theme of this blog, I’m going to clue some of you in on the Do’s and Dont’s of shopping in a retail…

So I may have spent all the money I had on this and an insane amount of stupidly priced food and bevs, but it was 100% worth it. Was aiming for a Jimmy Graham jersey but alas, as I expected, wern’t any for sale, so I got myself a 3rd Brees Jersey since I’ve been rocking his Reebok and Reggie Bush Reebok for the last 5 years. Not sure if I prefer the Nike ones tho. They don’t feel as durable.Once the rebate comes in, Graham Away will be mine!
